Julien isn't sure how he's ended up here. At a gallery Christmas party. Oh, he vaguely remembers talking to the gallery owner over drinks the night before. They know each other from their time at university and it has been nice, catching up, seeing her do so well for herself.

After reminiscing about their carefree youth and that horrid professor who lives to make people feel like shit, memory becomes fuzzy.

Now he's here, posing as her date or something, feeling like a complete and utter tit...

It was a boring party, completely lackluster art, and incredibly dull people. Doxia heads towards the door, but bumps into a man returning from the restroom.

"Terribly sorry." She quickly apologizes before noticing the mistletoe above them

For someone who values his personal space as much as Julien does, parties like this one are the worst possible place to be. Annoyance crosses his face but he quickly schools his features into something more pleasant. It's all his own fault, really.

"Don't worry about it. No harm done."

[Darcy isn't really sure why she's here. She knows why she's been invited -- the gallery owner is a friend of a friend of Jane's and Jane didn't want to come here alone -- but she doesn't know why she actually agreed to come. It was probably Jane's puppy dog eyes. Or the fear of leaving Jane alone with strangers and alcohol. Or both. It didn't matter now. She was stuck here, bored out of her mind, and trying to find an escape route.

Making her way towards the nearest door, Darcy stumbles into a man who looks just as excited to be here as she is. She'd comment on that if she wasn't apologizing for bumping right into him.]

Shit, I'm sorry. I never look where I'm going.

[She's ready to keep apologizing when she notices the mistletoe that's clinging to the top of the doorway they're standing under and she makes a face at it.] Oh, come on. Seriously? Who hangs that stuff up anymore ( ... )
