[Hunters. It was always hunters. Even when they weren't in Beacon Hills, they had to worry about hunters. And, as it figured, they'd all been caught in a group, which meant they'd had to split off when they ran.
When Derek realized who he was running in the same direction as, he'd slowed down so he didn't lose Stiles. It wasn't until they were about half an hour away from where they'd started that they hit something. A small, deserted cabin that looked like it hadn't been used in a few years if the broken windows and door were anything to judge by.]
Come on. [He gave Stiles a gentle nudge in the direction of the door.] We'll hide out in here. It's got to be warmer inside than out here.
Oh my God how do you do it? [Stiles wheezed, breathless. Running for almost a half an hour straight was not working for him.
He followed Derek towards the cabin, hugging his dirty hoodie around him. He was sweaty and cold, never a good mix, and it never ceased to amaze him how goddamn fit all of the wolves were. Hell, Derek should have been in the Olympics, or at least an underwear model.] Warm. Yes. Warm would be good.
It's easier for us. [He gave Stiles a brief, sympathetic look over the running before he stepped up to the knocked in door and then beyond it, wrinkling his nose slightly at the way the cold seemed more settled inside of the cabin.
So, maybe it wasn't going to be much better inside. Had he not lost his jacket along the way - shredded and off a different path to at least buy them some time if any hunters had followed them - he would've given it to Stiles. Wolves were naturally warmer than humans, but even Derek could feel how cold it was.] I'll look around for something to warm you up with.
[Derek turned and watched Stiles jog in place, shaking his head before he disappeared into the one bedroom the cabin had.
A search turned up a single blanket. When Derek returned to the room, which held just a couch and a table, he walked over and draped it around Stiles' shoulders.] Here. You're not fine. Sit down and warm yourself up.
[Stiles had stopped jogging when Derek returned, too tired. He still had enough strength to protest the jacket, however, though the chill was beginning to settle into his bones.] No, you've just got that thin shirt. You take it. I'll be fine.
[He shook his head and wrapped the blanket a little more tightly around Stiles' shoulders.] I'm fine. You're freezing. If you don't keep it, I'll make you.
Aw, hell. [Stiles turned towards Derek and opened the blanket, stepping forward and gesturing at him to get under the small cloth with him.] Why do you have to be so difficult?
I'm not letting you freeze. [So Stiles just decided to go for it and wrapped his arms around Derek, pulling him into the too-small, definitely not-warm-enough blanket. He definitely could have escaped it he tried, but they were both freezing and hey, two freezing bodies sharing heat was better than one?]
[Derek blinked at Stiles when he opened the blanket and moved forward, shaking his head.] I told you I'm fi--
[He was cut off by Stiles wrapping his arms around him anyway and he just stood there for a moment, arms pinned to his sides by the hug that was an attempt to warm him. After a few seconds, Derek shifted and freed himself just to motion toward the couch.] Sit down with me and we'll share the blanket. How's that?
[Snorting, Derek followed him over to the couch and took the blanket so he could wrap it around Stiles' shoulders once more. Then he wrapped his arms around him and pulled Stiles down to the couch with him.] We're not freezing to death. The hunters would get to us before that.
Isn't that comforting. [Stiles was surprised to find Derek wrapping his arms around him, and he did his best to cover the man in as much blanket as he could get on him, though he doubted the rag would actually help anything.] One way or another we're dying.
[He was naturally warmer than Stiles was and he preferred not seeing Stiles freeze to death, so wrapping his arms around him seemed like the thing for Derek to do after it had been done to him.
He shook his head as he tugged at Stiles to get him closer when they sat down.] We're not dying either.
[With that, Derek gave Stiles a last pull to get him into his lap, both arms around his back under the blanket.] We're not. Even if I have to carry you when we get to running again.

Nah, I'm fine. Really. [Stiles jogs in place, though he's sure his legs are just about ready to fall off.]
