[He checks his watch and Victor wonders if this is such a good idea. A play. Who asks someone out to a play in this day and age? It's the movies or a club or... something that's more modern. But here he is, in a suit lacking in a tie, hands shoved in pockets, and tickets to Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in his wallet.
Normal dates are a little unusual to him. Dates with people he has a strong attraction to but hasn't quite settled emotionally is ... completely odd. Even if he's looking forward to it.]

[ Aubrey, dressed in similar attire -- or at least something a little more casual than usual for him -- is fishes out his cigarette case and offers it to Victor as they wait for the final member of their party to arrive. ]
[David is nervous, in a way he hasn't been in a long time. A date. With not one but two men. And he would really like this to go well, to a degree he didn't care about with, well, anyone before.
He doesn't actually own anything that could properly be called a suit, but he's wearing significantly nicer clothes than is his norm. Dress shirt, tie, nice slacks and a jacket. That's as close to formal as David owns or will willingly wear. So here he is, not late--just not early either--and with projecting thoroughly disabled for the moment, because like hell is he showing anyone how nervous he is.]

[He accepts the cigarette wordlessly, a slight nod to Aubrey. This is familiar enough to make him ease just a bit. Better cigarettes than liqud courage. He had conisdered a sip of something but. No. He had to be of his full senses. How the fuck could Aubrey do it?] So, should I tell you later about Alice's comments on my life choices?
Like wise, Victor is keeping his powers in check. As noted, this is something he wants to do, not told to do. Acting won't work. He's the first one to spot the last of the trio as he flicks some ashes onto the ground. He raises a hand, lifting up as David approaches him with nod.] Glad you could make it. The directions weren't too hard, were they?
Don't tell me it went something like: "Oh god, Victor, how could you?" Punctuated by a lot of exasperated hand gestures.
[ He takes a quick drag of his cigarette. Helene's 'quick word' had been both brief and decidedly specific insofar as what he could expect if he managed to muck this up. ]
Handsome faces. Handsome faces all around. mightcarelessJanuary 1 2013, 22:44:33 UTC
Something along the lines of being a frat boy, you understand. She, at the least, calls a Spade and Spade. [But that conversation might come to a close, though he thinks David knows Alice. Yet another brunette she does not approve of.]
Excellent. Never could make heads or tails of directions until GPS. Glad you made it too. [That small smile, tiny and boyish. It's as real as he allows because... it's not so much either man but the crowds and just not knowing. Well, fake it until you make it. He pulls out the tickets.] Apparently an A-Lister is one of the leads to this.
Oh yes. All of that pretty concentrated in a single place.ofthefolkJanuary 1 2013, 23:17:30 UTC
I hope she meant you and not me. I'll have you know, I've been on my best behaviour.
[ For a given value of best, at least. Aubrey tips his head, curious now at the mention of the mystery cast member but instead focuses on David. Smiles. ]
This is why I leave the technical stuff to the experts. [ And cheat, fully and completely. ]
Exactly how do you define 'best'? [Yeah, he has met her--a couple times--but he never connected her to the men in front of him until he 'checked' who they were talking about.]
I manage. What A-Lister is that? [Not that he'd recognize the name anyway. Plays are, well, not his thing.
And to Aubrey:] And everyone is very glad for that. You're insufferable enough about the things you are an expert in.
Not pawing at either of us in public for starters. As for Alice, she made a little comment about me going on a date with you two. [And he quickly shares it in his head if David feels like peeking. More or less she accused Victor of living out a twin fantasy and some icy glares involved. But the impression is all very sisterly.]
Scarlett Johansson. The other man you share a bed with happens to be fond of her. Besides, it's ... a fairly contemporary play. Tennessee Williams is also one of my favorites. So it's a very good compromise. [There's a small smile, gaze flicking to Aubrey and then away.] If you think he's bad now, just wait.
Hush, you. [ He shoots Victor an amused look, taking another long drag on his cigarette before continuing. ] You're going to give him entirely the wrong idea.
[ Or the right sort, perhaps. It all depended on who you asked. ]
And I happen to admire her acting ability. [ The fact that she was leggy and blonde was just gravy. ] Even if she makes an awful red head.
[David is definitely peeking. His telepathy is pretty much entirely focused on Victor and Aubrey for the moment. He can't help snickering at Alice's comment, or maybe at Victor's.] Well, that is better behavior, at least.
[He shrugs.] She makes a good Black Widow. It's really all I've seen her in.
I don't think he needs any encouragement, darling. [There's a quirk of his lips and the nerves eases somewhat. His body faces towards both men now before trying to finish the cigarette Aubrey gave him.]
[He snorts at that, taking the last few puffs of smoke.] I prefer her in some of her films than others. She's lovely enough. [If truth be told, he's more a thing for Ms. Hathaway. There was a female relationship some years back where he was dragged to the Devil Wears Prada.]
And I thought after the play a decent dinner or drink somewhere. I've a few places in mind depending the mood.
Though, perhaps something a touch more upmarket than usual. [ Since tonight seemed to be a night for pulling out all the stops. ] I think I might get myself one of those frou-frou desserts.

Darling, so good to see you.

No, they were fine.
You too. Both of you. [And those words make it real. He's more nervous, realizing that, but his smile gets a little more real.]
