I doubt either of you could ever truly be boring.

Not with these relationship choices, no. [She threads her fingers through his hair absently, watching him for a moment before turning back around, settling on her back.]

Does the sky look the same where you're from?

Scotland, you mean?

No. I mean - you know, faery land. I don't know what it's called. I don't even know where it is. It's a real thing, right?

We just call it "Faerie", generally; and, yes, it very much exists. Though I couldn't really fault anyone for doubting.

It's... a strange place.

Could I see it someday?

[ Whatever he had expected her to say next, this clearly wasn't an option he had considered. ]

I suppose. If that was something that you'd want.

Of course it is. I want to see where you come from.

It can be difficult -- [ He's not honestly considering it, surely?

...except that he seems to be. ] to get back once you're there. Assuming, of course, that you don't have someone to show you the way.

Well, I don't have to worry about that, do I?

No, I suppose not.

So does the sky there look the same or not? [Her eyes travel over the stars while she nestles her body closer to his for warmth.]

[ He wraps an arm around her waist, holding her, his own gaze still skyward. ] A little. The stars are clearer for one, even in the built-up places.

[ The hand that isn't holding her reaches up, sketching out a vague shape in front of them. ] The constellations are different too, in places. Or perhaps you just have different names for them.

So the sky isn't pink with cotton candy clouds? [She turns her head to tuck her face into his side as she laughs.] How disappointing.

[She looks up again, watching his fingers.] Did you do a lot of stargazing back then, too?

No singing wildlife either, I'm afraid, unless we're counting the collection of nature spirits and we probably shouldn't.

[ His hand drops back to his chest, a strange expression passing across his face for a moment. ]

No, actually. I only really started becoming interested in it much later in life.
