11, chocolate rolled when consumed? notveryfae January 26 2013, 18:09:58 UTC
[Nope. She doesn't bother to ask when she sits down and steals a piece from the valentine's box. There's usually a large amount of valentine boxes around Aubrey's house. If he buys them (likely) or they're given to him (also likely), Manda does not care. She has a chocolate.] Hi. How many boxes so far?

Six at last count. [ Of the ones that didn't buy for himself, of course; his boxes tend toward the more exotic, after all. He seems to have made it a goal of his to sample every kind of chocolate known to man. And, given the ingenuity of the species, he has his work cut out for him. ] Try the Milk Tray. [ He holds out the box, not looking up from the paperwork he's so diligently focusing on. ]

The milk tray. You separated all your chocolate. God, do you even hand out thank you notes? [She pops the candy into her mouth and makes a pleased sound. It tastes really, really good.] Hey, Aubrey, you ought to try the - [She turns to look at him. Blinks. Oh. That's a good idea she just had.

With smooth movements, she takes the paperwork out of his hand, grabs the back of his hair to tip his head back, and plants a chocolate sweet kiss on his lips.]

[ There is a little bit of a flail in response and then ...oh.

Oh.

...his mouth works at a response but the words don't seem to be entirely co-operating just now. Bugger. ]

[Very possibly because his lips are a bit busy. If the lips are busy than the mouth really can't worth properly in verbal communication.

But the kiss isn't especially long, as literally and figuratively sweet as it is. Amanda ends it quickly.] Um. This seemed like a really good idea at the time. [A sheepish smile.]

[ This is true. Lips generally aren't so good with forming words when otherwise occuppied.

Not that he's complaining or anything.

And, perhaps, it ends a little more abruptly than he expected. And perhaps -- just perhaps, mind -- he's a little disappointed. ]

Ah, well -- [ He clears his throat. ] -- no harm done.

Rejected 9, then it gave me 1, which was my plan anyway, so. itsnotacurse January 27 2013, 05:51:28 UTC
Valentine's Day is... not exactly David's favorite holiday. To him, it's a reminder of Mel, of everything he did to get her and keep her. Aubrey, though. David knows Aubrey has a sweet tooth, and he knows that what Valentine's chocolates are meant to mean--he means that with Aubrey. He might have spent too much time and money finding the best chocolate he could, and when the time comes, he almost chickens out. But he manages a smile--a real smile, a little shaky from nerves but still not his usually-fake grin--and holds out the box. "Happy Valentine's Day."

To be quite honest, Aubrey had never been much for Valentine's Day himself, the candy notwithstanding.

However, a new year and a new relationship meant all manner of new things. For both of them. "Happy Valentine's Day," he says, looking up and inclining his head and smiling: "For me?"

David almost returns with a smartass comment about it being for the other identical twin he's dating. He laughs, instead. "Yeah, for you. Who else?"

"Well, for all I know you've a slew of admirers on the side that you never bothered mentioning." The smile becomes more of a grin.

"Thank you, David."

"Even if I did, you're the only one I'd be getting these for." He returns the grin. His smiles are so much more real lately, around Aubrey at least. "You're welcome." He leans in to press a kiss to Aubrey's lips.

"Careful," he sing-songs, fingers knotted in David's shirt and draws him down for a second quick kiss. The chocolates momentarily forgotten.

"We wouldn't want them to get jealous."

He laughs. "No. Course not." And he'd rather kiss Aubrey again than think about the other people who he has and might have given chocolates to.

"So," he says, pulling back after a moment, "I was thinking I'd take you out. For dinner."

That was the sort of thing one did on occassions like this, after all. And he enjoyed good food; who didn't enjoy food?

David's smile is definitely real at that. "I'd like that." A date, just a normal thing, isn't something they've really done, and he does love Aubrey and wants this.
