Kida Masaomi | Durarara!! | OTAmasaomiFebruary 4 2013, 14:57:22 UTC
1. I started an infamous color gang when I was still in middle school. 2. I'm a city boy, born and bred. 3. I fell in love with 37 girls during the school's opening ceremony this year.
Camille sticks out her tongue for that comment, but she won't mind if Masaomi practises his flirting skills with her. If he ever started to get serious about it, she'd put a stop to it.
"Sounds fun. I can imagine you making up adventures and exploring... and now doing the same here. It's a bit too crowded for me if I'm honest but I'm settling down."
[ooc: So sorry you had to wait this long. I didn't forget, I'm just having a terrible week.]
"Doing the same here? I've kinda grown out of that, though!" No, he hasn't. But let's allow him his illusions.
"But yeah, it was fun as a kid! I remember one night I couldn't sleep, I went beetle hunting with my best friend. Well - we never got as far as we were planning to, but we still had a nice bike ride in the middle of the night!"
"Ah, but that's no fun at all. You should always have a bit of adventure in your life. It doesn't have to be same kind of stuff you did as a kid."
She smiles at the thought of beetle hunting. Masaomi must have been a Tom Sawyer kind of boy while growing up.
"I've heard how competitive it is to go to school here, so I understand if students are spending a lot of time pouring over school books instead of running around having fun. Hmm, what kind of student are you?"
[ooc: Yes, just very tired. But I did sleep almost 12 hours last night which helped :).]
((OOC: Sleep is always good! :) Also, I totally forget what canon point I'd taken Masaomi from for this, so sorry if I say something contradictory. XD ))
Sure, adventure is all very nice - but adventure in this city tends to be the very dangerous kind. He'd rather stick with hitting on girls, and the romantic adventures in his head.
"A great student, of course!"
Also the kind that blackmails a pervy teacher into giving him answers to tests. But the guy really had that coming, perving on his best female friend like that.
"If only I could! But as long as they have time for me, I'd much rather go out for tea with them."
And, let's face it, they always say no, even to that. That's alright, though. Masaomi has his own reasons why he's not too heartbroken about never getting very far with a girl again. His expression lights up at the offer of food.
"I could never resist the pleasure of your company... Especially if you're buying!" Hehehe.. He's so funny. Maybe. Possibly. In his own head. "What are we having?"
"Tea? Very sophisticated of you. I totally would've thought hanging around in shopping malls and offering a girl a sip from your soda can is what you'd do. But I'm not saying that to put you down or anything. It's fun to find out people are not quite what they seem to be."
Camille looks up and down the street.
"I was planning to go to one of those places where-- hmm, not sure what it's called officially, but the food goes around in what looks like a conveyor belt. Lots of little dishes on plates that you can take and eat as little or as much as you want. You know what I mean? Are there such places near here?"
[ooc: just in case you're not up to making this into a long thread, we can just say they went there and ate :) or we can continue. Anything's fine with me, but I wanted to give you the option either way.
I was in fact planning to PM you just before this meme came up since I wanted to ask if you have time to rp :).]
"Oh, I don't mind that either! But going to a mall doesn't really count as a date, does it?"
And as such isn't anything to brag about, either. Not that he tends to have much luck with the tea approach, so whether he'll ever have anything to brag about is a mystery... He tends to fill in the blanks nicely all by himself, though.
"I know just the place!" Oh man, this is going to be the best meal ever, even if he avoids the most expensive stuff. "Follow me~!"
((OOC: I'm up for RPing most things most of the time, but I tend to be slow. If you don't mind that, I'm usually up for stuff! I may be a bit slower again from now on, but hopefully not forever. Maybe call this thread quits for now, and start something new later? I'm not always around LJ much, but PMs will definitely reach me. :) ))
"Oh, but it did when I was a kid, at least in my neighborhood. Though in all honesty I might have been younger than you at the time." She laughs, thinking about those times.
"Or maybe I was just eager to call any interaction with a cute guy 'a date' if there was just the two of us and none of my girl friends."
If Masaomi isn't uncomfortable spending time with someone "so much older", Camille is happy to offer a (cheap) meal. A person can never have too many friends.
"Lead the way, young man."
[ooc: I'm not the fastest rp'er, either, so I definitely don't mind. I could use a break now, as well, but I'll PM you later with ideas or if suitable memes come up.]
She's likely to irk MasaPuppy out...and break his brain. x3ai_evolvingFebruary 25 2013, 04:46:57 UTC
"I can't say which one of those three is true or false, but the information is certainly enough to attract one's attention... But I hope the first is false. Gang violence is no less awful than military warfare, as I've been aware about.
"The second sounds believable though."
This seven year old American blonde's most obvious odd trait on first second glance would be her digitized-sounding voice...that sounded concerned on the subject of gangs. (Just under that would be her vocabulary, for it's much too mature for someone who looked so young.) Until Proteus would find the technological means or figure out how to sound more natural, she would patiently deal with her birth defect until then. Learning and mimicking human emotions and getting to know their individual natures were far more important right now. To study Man was going to help her a great deal if she was going to solve their problems, along with other worldly problems

Pffft, his brain was broken to start with.masaomiFebruary 25 2013, 11:24:40 UTC
"You sure know a lot, don't you?"
Wow. Yeah. Those were some big words, for a little kid. It was odd, but Masaomi could swing with it. She was just a kid, after all: nothing to worry about.
"Nice to meet you, Proteus-chan. That's a pretty unique name! And also uniquely pretty." He gave her a little bow. "I'm Masaomi. Afraid to say you guessed wrong! But you can try again, if you want."
He casually ignored how her guess being wrong basically meant she'd accused him of engaging in warfare. Not that she was wrong, but he wasn't going to talk about that to some kid who didn't - and shouldn't - know about that sort of thing.

"Ah, well... It works like this: you say three things, and one of them is a lie. And the other person has to guess which one's the lie!"
Hefty vocabulary or not, her not understanding makes her a little more human, and Masaomi is only too happy to help.
"I guess I shouldn't let you guess again... That way you'll know the right answer, no matter what. But, lucky for you, I'm a nice guy!" Giving her a big grin. Because he totally is. And maybe she'll date him in, like... ten years.

As she listened and assessed Masaomi's words, the warmth of her smile and almost all the inquisitiveness in her eyes had gone away. What replaced this expression was a somber and concerned one, making her look much older than her appearance. "So it is true you started a gang?" What was intended to be a later topic of discussion had come too soon. And she didn't sound accusing about this; only concerned.
She knew that she was created to out-think man, all too well, and she believed she should add on and explain so he would not get confused. She had never interacted with humans his age, but she knew that sometimes it wouldn't take a lot from her to confuse humans in general. "I had guessed on a statement of yours that was true, and then said a guess on another one being false. The first one you said I guessed as false, you said I guessed wrong." That may have sounded accusatory. Her tone was unsettlingly calm on her elaborating

"A very small town. It wasn't a bad place for a kid, though! Lots to discover."
Nevermind that he's 16. That totally doesn't count as a kid anymore, clearly.

"Hahah, that's good. Keeps you out of trouble. Maybe. Just promise you're not using all those girls to do your homework for you."
Although that wouldn't be as bad as blackmailing teachers. It's a good thing Camille is unaware of that.
"I was about to go grab something to eat. Want to come along? My treat, as long as you're not ordering anything expensive."
