[How did he get into this mess? He recalled having tea with Miss Adler and then insisting on walking her back to her home. It was on the way there that they had been attacked and abducted.]
Goodness... They did not need to hit me so hard...
[Perhaps this was bound to happen eventually, but a shame Aziraphale had to be mixed up in it as well.]
Apologies, dear. Usually the hired help is a bit more gentle while waylaying me.
[Reaching up to her hair she reached for a hairpin... and her fingers found none. ...Oh, but they were good if they had thought to take her hairpins. With a look of concentration she slowly fingered through her hair, hoping they had missed one.]
Rather uncouth, I would say. But it would make sense they'd be more gentle with you. At least they have manners enough to handle a lady such as yourself more kindly.
I believe it might have something to do with a little souvenir I picked up recently. Some countries can be really quite picky about what you bring home with you.
[Her smile is all the innocence~ And after giving him that reassuring smile, she scans their surroundings. Whatever this building is, it's vast, stark and dim save for the light coming in from narrow windows just under the roof. The heavy-looking wooden crates would confirm this to be a warehouse. (How disappointingly cliche.)]
[Well, it seems that she'll go to the second plan for picking the lock of the handcuffs that they've so innocently avoided commenting on thus far. Contorting her left arm behind her, she starts picking at the laces of her dress.]
So in other words, I best tell you nothing. [Or all lies, but she had some qualm with telling him lies.]
[With a small smile of satisfaction she finally got the knot of the lace undone and started loosening the bodice of her dress. There was a bit of wire in the corset that she could use to pick the lock, if she could just- get- at it-]
