She hasn't taken it that far yet, though. Not quite. He just leans forward, less than an inch from her face, voice low and deadly serious. "You seem to think I care about what you think of me. Your opinions don't count, Rose, they don't matter any more than you do. You're in no position to decide who or what I am. You are nothing more than a useless pedestrian I take along because I took pity on you. Living that useless, pointless, empty life with no one who truly cared or loved you, no future and no past, no one to care if you simply...never woke up. Before me, the world wouldn't have even noticed if you were never born. In fact, in all likelihood your father would have survived if not for your birth. And oh, I took you in, I loved you, the poor little chav, but I've had enough. If you don't behave yourself, I'll find someone else, and you can go ( ... )

You couldn't hate an animal. You couldn't hate a table. That's all he was. He was just a mouthy table that needed to learn his place.
"Why would it matter whether or not you cared about me? Why does your opinion of me matter at all? I fail to see the significance. Do you really think I care about whether or not you love me? You're nothing. Everything you're saying right now doesn't matter. I don't care about you, or what you think, or how you feel. You. Are. Nothing." Just like you couldn't hate a table, a table couldn't hate you. And even if it did, it was a table? Who bloody cared? "And d'you know what? I think I'm tired of you being in here."
A hand came up to wrap around his tie, and without a second thought, or a glance, she began to drag him toward the hallway.

Of course, that was a little hard when his worst fears came true and she started to drag his counterpart towards the hall.
Still, he was a Time Lord. He'd be fine, as long he didn't bring that Time Lord strength down to bare on their Rose. He started writing a simple program that would take over for him....just in case.
Reply
No. He should never have given her this chance.
He just. Stops moving. Because she doesn't get to decide anything he does. He just stops, and grabs her arm, wrenching it free of his tie and twisting. Just twisting. Barely any effort or strength exerted, but if he moves just barely more those poor strained tendons and that fragile human bone in her arm will snap.
He won't, not yet. This is her last chance.
"Understand me, Rose. Your little display of initiative is cute, but you're finished. That's it. Enough. I'm finished humoring you. Do not push me any further, Rose, or I will prove to you just how insignificant and fragile you are."

Except, it did hurt, because he was a fraction of an inch away from the breaking point, and she let out a sharp cry, and then fell silent, breathing rapidly, in and out. In and out. It was inconveniencing. Disconcerting. He was a danger to everyone, and frankly, she didn't care enough about him to try and humor him, or 'make him better'. You couldn't fix a table.
"Shame, really. I would've tolerated you if you just hadn't pushed it. When this is over, I'm having you exterminated."

He was keying in the command to vent the exhaust when he heard Rose's sharp cry and he was moving before he even registered it. One minute he was typing, the next he was reaching out and grabbing the Time Lord's arm at the elbow, pinching nerves that would make the entirety of his arm go numb before he shoved his way between them, one hand on either chest, but his glare was all for his twin.
"I will not let you hurt her."
A glance over his shoulder..."And you...just please shut up?"
Reply
He grabs the arm hanging uselessly at his side and glowers at the half-breed. "You have no business making any decisions, Hybrid. Get out of my way."
Reply
"Excuse me? Has everyone gone mad? Did you just tell me to shut up?" She glanced over at the Time Lord as if to verify, then back to the Metacrisis. "As if he wasn't bad enough, now you? You're not even a proper Time Lord."
She frowned at the Gallifreyan Doctor. "You let him get by with too much, he thinks he's a person."
Reply
And he'd never forgive himself.
But, that being said, it wasn't exactly easy to stay between them. He let his arms drop back to his sides, his eyes closing as he did his best to remind himself that they weren't themselves. They were being affected by...whatever they were stuck in at the moment.
Rose's words made him jerk a little and he gaped at her.
"W-what?"
Reply
He snorts and gives Rose a knowing look. "It's apparently a chronic problem. You've been coddling him too much. Look at him. I think he's actually surprised we're not hopping to his demands. Like a dog with his first leash."
Reply
Because he, too, was a table. A table she owned. No opinions. No feelings. No nothing. Nothing to her. Just a glazed-over look in her eyes, slight dilation in her pupils as a result of the radiation.
"It's got that sad look on it's face. D'you think it actually feels things, or does he just copy 'em off of you? I can't tell. Bit inconveniencing, though, isn't it? Should we put him out until we get this sorted out?"
Reply
He'd been wrong.
Nothing could prepare him for this....this apathy towards him, not just from the man he expected it from, but from both of them.
He tried to tell himself that they were still under the the influence of the radiation. Tried to tell himself to just ignore it and move on.
"...shut up. Both of you, just shut up!"
It only stood to reason that he'd ignore himself when push came to shove.
Reply
For now he just looks over at Rose, as if nothing is between them. "Oh, I don't know. He'd scratch at the door and complain, and I'd rather not subject the TARDIS to it." She felt nothing for him. On the contrary, the Doctor was still quite fond of him. He loved him, after all, the hybrid just needed discipline. "Besides, if I put off disciplining him he won't know what he's done wrong. He might be napping by the time I get around to it, and he'll think he's not supposed to sleep." He gives an exasperated sigh. "I'd have to train him to sleep all over again."
Reply
She reclined back on the jump seat. She owned the pair of them equally, but the more important one could discipline the little one. It took most of the work off of her. She just wished he'd get on with it, so she could get back to sorting the better one out.
"Just... get on with it, then. Make him understand he's not supposed to interrupt us when we're talking, beat him a bit, and let's get on with it. But if he does it again, we're getting rid of him."
Reply
They were talking about him like he was...like he was a dog. Some kind of pet that Mommy and Daddy were fighting about. He was something less then human to them, and..
..that had to come from somewhere, didn't it? Surely the radiation wouldn't plant ideas in their minds, which meant....which meant that all of this was something that they actually meant, somewhere in their subconscious.
"I'm not your dog! I'm a living, breathing creature who just saved your arm, Rose Tyler!"
He poked her, square in the chest.
