She squeezes her eyes shut, screws up her face, curling a hand in his lapel. Her breathing is rapid, though whether it's due to the ribs or an impending panic attack, it's hard to say "I'm sorry- I'm sorry, it's... I'm fine, yeah? That thing- it's gonna get away. You've gotta- hngh-"

He glances back, and the creature's already got a solid headstart. No way he's going to catch it now anyway. He'll have to track it down later. For now, this girl needs help, and there's no one around but him who can give it to her.

His fingers hit a tender spot, and she winces, wrapping an arm around her chest. She's starting to manage her breathing, and it hurts a bit less as she calms down, though her head is starting to get light and dizzy. "Thank you. For sticking around. Helping me. What about you? What's your name?"

"No problem, it's what I'm here for. I'm the Doctor," he answers, carefully touching her ribs. "Does this hurt?"

She shot up to throw her arms around his neck, or intended to, but got about half way and stopped, wincing. She pressed a hand to her ribs, shaking her head. "This is bad. You can't be here."
