It would be him, wouldn't it? Stuck in a room with walls however many feet thick and made of woven wool that would be bloody impossible to get through without a knife or a sonic or... or something. She couldn't help but laugh, though, because at least he was alive and able to talk, and she pressed her hand against the wall.

"I was until I had to come rescue some idiot that got kidnapped on a wool planet," She called through the wall, positively grinning. Not that it was good that he'd been here four days, but at least she found him. Step one, check. On to phase two. Step two. Plan B. Whatever. Getting him the hell out of that room. "Stupid hyper-advanced time-apes!"

"Don't tell me they were from Greg," the Doctor said, his voice exasperated. "Because I've already got a bone to pick with their leader and oof----"

He lost his balance on the sodden wool, and fell over. His wrists ached with the fall, and since whatever was supporting the wool had given way, he found he was leaning a good deal farther than the chains would allow.

"They took my jacket!" he called. "It's got the sonic in it! Can't be too far away. Setting 6788! Should cut through wool!"

She squished a bit closer to the wool at the sound, eyebrows raised, straining to hear through the mush. When she pulled back, she came away wet and frowning. Was there anything more disgusting feeling than wet wool? She really, really didn't think so.

She darted her eyes down the fuzzy corridor, first left, then right. Right. Time to hunt a leather jacket in a wool building. No wonder he was so fond of grating. "Right! Jacket. 6788. Okay. Don't go anywhere!"

She pushed off from the wall again, sprinting down the hallway.

He wrapped the chains around his wrists and jumped, putting more pressure onto the wet wool. The water wouldn't stop, and his muscles ached from the cold. He'd wondered, over the last few days, exactly how many Reapers would appear if he died in such a wrong place in Rose's timeline.

Honestly, though, he wondered why the Reapers were taking their time to appear, now. He could feel the strands of time changing with everything the two of them did together. What was the holdup?

He tried to dig his heel into the floor, but there wasn't enough give in the material. He could only stand there, barely supported, with his arms pulled up too far above his head.

"Any time now!"

She had her own concerns on the matter. The longer they spent together, the more things were changing. Her past self would never get to experience this time with him, come to love him as the man he was, visit the end of the Earth with him, all of those things that made her who she was today were blinking out of existence, and yet she remembered them all ( ... )

The wool was starting to give even more. This, he decided, had been a good idea at first, but now that he had so much strain on his arms, it wasn't a good idea anymore. And the water kept coming, now pooling in the centre of the place he was standing. Any hope he had that there might be someone out there waiting to give him a dramatic speech on why they'd kidnapped him was swiftly vanishing.

At least that meant Rose would be safe, finding his jacket (if she could) and getting out.

There was the sharp smell of burning, and he saw a large hole appear in the wool, with his young companion standing there, two bananas held in her mouth by the stems. He gave her a grin, despite his awkward stance.

"Saved the bananas, that's good. Good source of potassium."

"Merph-" She said around the bananas with a little eye-roll, and frowned a bit at the quickly forming hole in the wool. She tossed his jacket to the side, the bananas with them, and stepped forward, avoiding the soggier, saggier spots. "Thought you might be hungry after four days. How the hell'd you manage that?"

She fiddled through the settings again. "If I sonic you free, are you gonna drop through there?"

"Dunno," he replied. He tried to shrug. "Better than hanging around here all day, though."

"Yeah, well, fingers crossed," she murmured, flipping through a few more to find the right setting before she turned it on him, aiming a the chains and pressing the button.

"Wait, do you know the setting---"

Apparently she did, as the clasp holding the chains released, and the Doctor's arms dropped down. He let out a cry of pain at the release of his arms, and as the blood started to flow down to his swollen, torn-up wrists. The wool beneath his feet held. He grinned up at her through the stream of water.

"Well, there we are---"

And with that, the wool tore, sending him plummeting down to the next level.

She brightened when he seemed relatively stable. Aaaand then he crashed through the floor. She stepped closer, as close as she could without treading on the damp, outwardly-spreading circle, and leaned forward to peer in the hole.

"Hate to say I told you so," She said to herself, and then louder to him, "Are you alright?"

Because, well, the whole bloody planet was made of wool. How rough could his landing have been?

He landed in a damp pile of dark wool, with his ankle twisting out in the wrong direction. This was downright humiliating. He was the Doctor. He didn't end up hurt or injured, he helped his companions who couldn't seem to walk across a flat plane without breaking something significant.

"I'm fine---ow," he grunted, getting to his feet. "We're going to need to find a place to meet up. How far away are we from the TARDIS?"

"About a mile and a half, once we get outta here. This place is a bit underground." She disappeared from the hole a second, and came back a moment later. "Mind your head."

She tossed down his jacket, and the bananas right after. He was probably freezing, given that he'd been under the sprinkler system for the last four days without any source of heat. Then again, maybe not, superior Time Lord physiology.

"There should be some stairs somewhere. It's just a series of 'em. If you can find your way there, we can meet up. It's like a bloody maze, all this wool looks the same."

He catches the jacket as it falls, and throws it over his cold shoulders. It's so cold, but he's been cold for days. And the TARDIS is only a mile or so away. And Rose is safe.

He takes a few steps, but his ankle aches in protest.

"Stairs. Right, we can---" He looks up the hole to her. "Okay! Go out the way you came in! I'll be right behind you!"

He falters, and she frowns, stepping a bit closer to the hole. Maybe the landing hadn't been as soft as she assumed? Maybe he was a bit more injured than she'd anticipated. Four days with his arms chained over his head, he couldn't just... be alright.

"Hang on- are you alright? You were limping just there, d'you need me to come down?" Five quid says he says no, that he can handle it.
