I've had mine for a while now, and I really, really like it. The sleep data isn't as useful as it might be, but I use a sleep monitor on my iPod that works so I don't mind much.
It only monitors when you've awakened. I have one on my iPod that monitors which phase of sleep you're in as well as when you've awakened, which I mike.
however, that said, the Fitbit is a really nice body-monitoring solution. The hardware is unobtrusive, and surprisingly sturdy.
For sleep data specifically, you might look into http://wakemate.com/ or http://www.myzeo.com/. The latter does have some electrodes, though it's obviously not an EKG.
Thanks for the pointers. I do want a flexible pedometer-type-thing as well as something that tracks sleep, and the Fitbit does both, although clearly doesn't do sleep in nearly as much depth as the Wakemate or Zeo.
