How appropriate that I would get a 2? and/or incredibly innappropriate brokenoptimism October 11 2011, 07:36:39 UTC
Charles was breaking a trust that he was certain had never been strong to begin with. Erik kept trying to keep him out. Didn't he see that there was nothing in his mind Charles didn't already know? They had been connected ever since that first plunge Charles took off the side of a boat to save his life, and still the other mutant never truly trusted him. He did everything he could to make Erik trust him, and when it came to that point in time when Charles had needed that trust to be there the most, Erik had blocked him out. Charles knew some part of Erik would always fear what he could do, or make Erik do.

Erik, look at me.

If Erik wouldn't listen to what he had to say, he would speak where the other mutant couldn't just block him out.

We'll call it both. lol lookforcreator October 11 2011, 15:34:09 UTC
"Stay out of my head."

There's a slight growl to his voice as he says it. Charles had no reason to be inside his mind. Nor did he have any plans of doing as the telepath asked him. There was quite a bit that the other man could do and he knew it. It was one of the reasons that he didn't trust him as fully as he should. Then again... there were so many other reasons as well.

You obviously won't listen to me any other way, Erik. I've been trying to get through to you all this time and all you do is block me out, so now we're going to do this my way.

He wasn't trying to keep Erik from doing anything, at least not yet, but if it came to that, if it was the only way to make Erik listen to what he had to say? He would use whatever means necessary.

Of all the others, I know you know I'm the only one you could ever trust. Why do you keep blocking me out? I can help you, Erik. You don't have to be alone.

Those eyes narrow on the telepath and he moves closer to him, the movements anything but friendly. He didn't like the fact that Charles had gotten into his head. Didn't like that the man hadn't listened when he'd told him to stay out. He's had enough of that for a lifetime.

"You were told..."

It's growled out even as the metal in the room shakes with his growing anger and agitation.

"To stay out of my head. And, Charles, I don't need your help."

We think for a moment he's possibly forgotten what the other man can do. How powerful he is but that's not what's on his mind right now.

Oh, was Erik ever forgetting who he was dealing with. Still, for the moment Charles made no attempts to touch his powers. All he wanted was for Erik to listen to him, for once. He wasn't trying to take away Erik's control on himself, just his inability to block the telepath out.

"How long are you going to keep feeding yourself that same line. You don't have to do these things alone. We can do them together if you would just let.me.help.you. What's so wrong with accepting my help, Erik? I am your friend. I am here to help you. I am the only one who CAN help you." There was frustration in his tone that never normally made itself known except when dealing with Erik.

"You know you need my help. No one else can give it to you. No one else will even try to give it to you. You shove everyone away, sooner or later. Well I'm not going anywhere so you might as bloody well get used to it."

The master of metal was forgetting who he was dealing with. Even as Charles started saying how he could help. How no one else could help him. Something that he didn't buy one bit. He could find help elsewhere if he wanted to.

"I don't need your help, Charles," he grounds out. "Nor do I want it. You may be my friend but that doesn't mean that I need or want your help. Help someone else."

"Erik, I am the only person who knows what you've been through. I felt the agony you endured. Your pain. No on knows you the way that I do." He wasn't giving up. If Erik kept fighting him, he would break that trust again. It was for his own good. Erik needed to let Charles in or he would force his way in, because without Charles, he was going to get himself killed. He needed Charles. Needed someone who knew him, who could make him stop before he went to far, or be there to push him when he was ready to give up.

"Don't make me an enemy, Erik. I am your friend. I will help you."

*giggles* I saw what you did there. lookforcreator October 14 2011, 02:11:37 UTC
"It doesn't matter if you know what I've been through. Doesn't matter what you've felt. My pain is my own. You need to realize that and realize that I don't need your help." There's no way he'd even admit that he needed help. No way in hell that he would ever admit it. He'd keep pushing until Charles stopped.

"You maybe my friend, Charles, but get it through that thick head of yours. I don't need your help nor do I want it."

:D I have no idea what you're talking about brokenoptimism October 14 2011, 03:42:47 UTC
Charles made a frustrated noise, running his hands through his hair. Why. Why wouldn't Erik let him help?

"You're a fool, Erik." He wasn't giving up. He never would. Couldn't, even.

Erik watched him before shaking his head and moving away from the telepath. He wasn't really giving Charles much choice.

"No, you're the fool. I don't need your help."

Charles would fight his way back into Erik's mind if he tried to leave. The other mutant was letting his stubborn pride get in the way. He was going to end up getting himself killed like he had nearly done going after Shaw, if Charles didn't do something. At least, that was the way he saw it. The truth didn't seem to matter to either of them, right then. His patience was running then.

"And I suppose you didn't need my help when you tried to drown yourself either. Your bloody pride is going to get you killed."

Charles is gonna have to take drastic measures lookforcreator October 14 2011, 04:09:16 UTC
Actually... leaving wasn't such a bad idea. He was getting tired of Charles' little speech of how he needed help. He didn't need it or want it. Shaking his head he moves toward the door.

"I've lived this long, Charles. I don't need your help."

Charles didn't want it to come to this. He hated to use his powers for things like this, but Erik left him no choice. His fingers to his temple, he attempted to freeze Erik in place. He had taken over other people's motor functions before, but Erik had a lot stronger will than anyone else he knew. Still, he had to try.

Stop fighting me, Erik. I am not your enemy.

Erik's fists clenched and those eyes narrowed on Charles the moment he felt the other trying to take over his body. He wouldn't let the telepath do so without a fight.

"Get out of my head," he snaps, his powers surfacing as he does.

I feel like I lost a tag with you somewhere and this thought makes me sad. brokenoptimism October 14 2011, 20:25:22 UTC
Charles could feel the surge that moved through Erik with his powers, the shift in his energies that signaled things were about to get rough between them in a moment. Why did he have to be so difficult about this? Gritting his teeth slightly, Charles focused on the point of Erik's powers rather than his ability to move, imagining himself subduing the tide rising against him.

"I can't do that, Erik. I can't allow you to leave." He had said once, that he wouldn't stop Erik leaving, despite the fact that he could, but things had changed. They were too connected now to be separated. "The only way we will survive this is by staying together. Separate, neither of us will succeed. You need me, Erik. As much as I need you." They were like yin and yang. A balance to each other.

You didn't, hun. I actually owe you a tag on the memory loss bit. lookforcreator October 14 2011, 22:00:25 UTC
Erik could feel... something, he wasn't sure, shoving down on his powers and it didn't... He did the next best thing and shoved back or attempted to. All because he didn't like the feel of it.

"You can and will allow me to leave," he grounds out. "Nor do you need me. You only think you do."
