I had the distinct pleasure of drawing the loveliest story for Star Trek Big Bang this year. It was my first time doing this challenge, and I only just signed up to do a fanmix. It was just the right size of a project for me right now, and just the right theme. The story takes place in New Orleans, following Pavel Chekov there after he's decided to take some extra time to consider his re-enlistment. It strikes a very particular note for me, this story; it's a kind of hurt/comfort tale that I really go in for. Here it is:
Oracle on the Delta (Chekov/McCoy, Chekov/Others (Star Trek (2009)) | R | 25,000 words)
Summary: With the five-year mission over, everyone expects the Enterprise bridge crew to sign up immediately for the next tour. Pavel, plagued by panic attacks, leaves San Francisco and everything familiar behind to travel to a new city. He takes with him only a small slip of paper with a message that reminds him of the one he has left behind.
Warning: Discussion of mental trauma.
