[spnfemmeslashbb] "Truth & Clarity" by lazy_daze (art masterpost)
I had the uniquely cool experience of claiming a story by lazy_daze for the spnfemmeslashbb. Being a long-standing fan of her work caused me a few minutes of chagrin followed by a whole few weeks of nervously teetering about what I could do to accompany this story. It's a beautiful story, so careful and truthful, but it wasn't until I saw it in all its completed glory that the imagery came together for me. Just in time, too. You should absolutely read it if you haven't yet - it's an amazing Jo Harvelle/Kathleen Hudak fic that's got all the hallmarks of a classic :)

Jo wonders if she should be replacing one authoritative older woman with another - but Kathleen is different, and fascinating.
Their bond changes into something unexpected and more than a little scary for Jo, but it becomes worth it - until a hunt goes south, and they both have to examine just what they have and what they mean to each other.

My endless thanks to lazy_daze who was a joy to work with, and so infectiously happy to be writing this story. I loved every minute of watching it emerge, and I was deeply grateful for her enthusiasm when the project came together. There's really nothing like getting the equivalent of victory arms when you first show your work to an author.
And thanks also to the mods of spnfemmeslashbb who are running a small but lovely challenge. I can't wait to see the rest of the submissions.
