Song Challenge Day 20
A song that has many meanings to you.
Just the Two of Us by Will Smith
Alright, so it's a little silly, but I still like this song. It was on the radio all the time when I was in high school, so it's got a connection to that time period for me. Then Dr. Evil did a parody of it in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, which was one of my favorite movies back then (yeah, I went a little overboard with the juvenile humor). And honestly, throughout the years, I've repeatedly gone back to these lyrics in the song:
Throughout life people will make you mad
Disrespect you and treat you bad
Let God deal with the things they do
'Cause hate in your heart will consume you too
It's been a needed message many times in my life when I was consumed with anger and struggling with self-esteem. It both validates the way I feel and reminds me that I do more harm to myself in the long run by stewing in it. So it's always been go-to song to help me calm down and let go.
