Had problems with the buggy brake - it won't go on properly. It's always been a bit temperamental. Had a look at it. I think I know how to fix it now

Good luck with fixing it, is it the quinny you've still got? We were going to get that one ourselves and probably still will if i ever get pregnant again so i'm taking note to make sure superdus doesn't ever try to 'adjust' it cos she would do the same or worse knowing her lol.
The uk.rec.cars.maintenance word-of-the-year springs[0] to mind: pingfuckit
That they have a word for the class of small, vital, spring-loaded retaining clips, which are either practiclly impossible to get back on or delight in flying off and landing in drains/long grass/gravel driveways/boxes of junk, should provide some reassurance that you're far from alone...
Hopefully the Big Clamp will do the trick. I hate these annoying mechanincal problems where you can see exactly what needs to be done, but lack the required superhuman strength / tools that can phase through solid matter. Grr.

Yes it is the Quinny. It's really good in many ways, and I've not seen one I'd swop it for - the brake mechanism lets it down a bit though.
Its other main disadvantage was "no basket underneath", but you can get those as an add-on now, and I did, and it was well worth it.

That is indeed a most expressive and appropriate word :-)
I think this one would have had to be more of a "spoinkfuckit" or suchlike, it was a bit too substantial and not-going-anywhere to be a "ping".
