ok guys.  so the time has come to let SPS rest for the summer.  there will be no more meetings this year (no, not even during finals).  This is because, i think its safe to say, many members have lost their initiative and modivation due to the upcoming summer and i personally feel that a mistake made here will be doubly as costly come fall.  in any

This is used incorrectly.
If you were to use the words in parentheses, you would have to have another adjective before 'effort.' For instance, "you put a lot of good (if not consistent) effort. That makes sense, whereas your sentence has a badly placed "if not." There is nothing to "if yes."
