I have a friend that lives in IL and I've been talking to him quite frequently over the past two weeks and the other day he said something and then he said "it was a hoot". Reading through this I saw that you said hoot as well, and I haven't heard that word used in such a long time and in the span of two days I've seen/heard it used.
