We came in late the night we came in, crashed just as quickly. The next day we went out and saw the Museum of Modern Art. It was quite nice, I got to see a lot of the Picasso's and Van Gough's they'd loaned to the Eden Park Museum in Cincinnati.
zappagirl's brother works for
Pfizer, which gave us free access to MoMa.
Grand Central station has a nice lower level filled with places to eat, I split some yummy Indian food with
zappagirl,
myopia2000 grabbed a slice from "Two Boots" which looked very tasty, she seemed to enjoy it.
zappagirl's cousin, Adam, seems like a nice kid, he's sixteen and quite the heart breaker. Big athlete, plays soccer, la lacrosse, football, etc... Not the kind of guy most of my 'peeps' would dig, but definitely a heart breaker for his scene.
The older brother and cousin ended up doing their own thing and we were off, which included what we dubbed the, "Eating and Drinking Tour", which can apply to any city really. New York in particular has a fabulous transit system (duh), especially depending on your location. Now Jim lives in Tarrytown, which you have to take a train out of, then grab a subway train/bus/whatever. And it quits running at 1:20am (to his stop), which limited us, but we still had a good time. Good drinking, good times, lots and lots of walking.
A funny moment hit when, out of nowhere, I got, "Excuse me sir, that's a fine
Penny Arcade t-shirt you're wearing!" It was cute, to say the least.
iPods in New York are also huge, which makes a lot of sense. You have a city of walkers, constantly walking or on the subway or a train, duh, what are you gonna do? Have some sort of portable music player! iPods seem most prominent, again, duh, the most popular portable music player on the planet currently, feature rich and easy to use, so yeah, it's nifty. hola
