For the first time in my adult life, I can honestly say--I'm proud to be an American. In the past I've said I should've been born in the 60s...now, I realize I was born at exactly the right time. I remember watching Obama give the keynote address at the 2004 DNC-- I thought then and there "That man needs to be president." I am SO happy to see that come true, especially now versus the 2012 of 2016 I originally thought he'd run. I look at how great our country was in 2000 just before Bush was elected and think that Clinton was able to accomplish that in 8 years after having just come out of the Gulf war, and I hope and pray Obama can do the same in the next 8 years. (I was so close to taping over the "'08" on my Obama shirt and writing in "'12" yesterday). Granted with as bad as Bush has fucked up our country Obama has a LOT of work ahead of him. But I think he can do it. Although a huge part of me fears there's still some racist KKK motherfucker in this country that will try to kill him. How people could still feel that way is beyond me, but they already arrested the two kids in Tennessee who were plotting just that. Anyway... I'm starting to ramble.
