JT LeRoy is one of my favorite authors of all time. You should read The Heart is Decietful Above All Else; it's basically a collection of short stories that tell the befores and afters of Sarah. Also, he has a piece in an anthology edited by another one of my favorite authors of all time (Dave Eggers). The anthology is called The Best American Non-Required Reading of 2003. That, too, is worth a read. He's in a few other anthologies, too, but I haven't read them nor can I recall what they are. But yeah...
Did you know JT LeRoy was publishing in places like Spin and Rolling Stone when he was sixteen? And that a lot of his stories were inspired by real events in his life? He's such an impressive, amazing guy, but whenever I read about him, he always sounds so down-to-earth and average.
