He is my #1 current favorite person!

This will be the first election that will reduce me to a sobbing mess, either way. If he doesn't get the nomination, if he does get the nomination. If he doesn't win the election, especially if he wins the election.

I'm scared to even say "when".

Hope and fear seem inextricably linked. We are perpetually braced for disappointment. But I stood in line after work to vote in this primary with a lot of other tired people. We just wanted to get home to our families and dinner but we politely waited as long as necessary. He's got something.

God, me too. I have started obsessively watching his speeches on youtube late at night when I can't sleep (which is about every night). I am a suspicious person who has spent most of his campaign waiting for his deep dark secret agenda to be revealed. Politicians are self-serving liars, for the most part.

To be honest though, my suspicions have broken down. Especially after his last speech re his pastor, I believe he is really a remarkable human being. That speech was an unapologetic risk. He could have given the majority what they want to hear but he didn't. I have incredible respect for a candidate who, at this point in the game, tells the uncomfortable truths. He has a way of being a truth-teller while promoting a culture that is more cohesive and unashamed of hope. Have you ever seen backing for a politician with such strength by such a wide cross-section of the population? I haven't.

I am with Bliccy. The tears will flow either way. I have to tell you though, I think it will be because he is going to win. How is THAT for hope?Z

He actually inspires, doesn't he? That's the difference I see in people who are pro-Obama--they are passionate and inspired and I've never seen anyone be that way about a US politician before. Even the people I know who voted for Nadar seemed half-hearted and like they were choosing the least evil which isn't really a choice at all. I hope he makes Hilary his VP. :D
