Update: I put a load of laundry in the washer this morning and came down later to find water all over the floor. Seems that when the guy replaced the water hose for the washer, he neglected to replace the hose to drain into the sink, so the washer just drained onto the floor. Thank goodness it is only a few feet from the sump pump and major thank goodness that it didn't short out the house. The plug connection from the washer to the extension to the outlet was sitting in water. Hubby got everything back where it belonged; I spent an hour mopping and drying the floor and then had words with the plumbing company. A manager will be returning my call on Monday.
