So, the thing that I have with Istanbul is that no matter what I do or where I go - I always come back with my feet hurting like hell. And, of course, the fact that the city is like twice as big as my country, population-wise.  There are people everywhere. A lot of them. Like so 'lot' that everyday feels like a grand protest/march/gay pride/any- ( Read more... )

Came across an exchange of comments with you on an old fic of mine and wanted to say hello. How is the world treating you, or perhaps more aptly, how are you treating it?

Hey hey! Quick reply before a longer one:
I'm in UK for an MA degree. In London right now, off to York on Monday, which is where I'm studying. Hope to see you one time or another! :)

So - your comment is so right on time! I was thinking about contacting you as well, just a few days ago, but because of the whole getting ready for the move to the UK thing never got around to doing that. That and there was just very little internet access once I was no longer employed with my organization (thankfully).

Have been around London the past two days and it has been pretty exciting. Love the weather (but not the prices, of course). My studies are more like a sabbatical - only two class days per week! So will be more around online, I'm supposing.

And - those were great times. I mean exchanging the comments on fics, RPGs, etc. How have you been? I hear you're finishing your PhD. Is it the same PhD, or have you started another one (and also finishing it already)? And also - happy birthday! (Apologies for being late).

Clearly we're auspiciously attuned, or some such! How great that you're in the UK, too - I've only been to York once, but I remember thinking it was very gothic with foggy little streets and a massive cathedral. And... there my knowledge ends. What are you doing your MA in? I found it quite a shock how much time I had to myself when I started mine, too, but I bet you'll spend a lot of it working anyway. Always the way ( ... )
