Agape (Forum-Only, Forum's Birthday 2009)
Carnation, apple, sweet pea, vanilla cream, passionfruit, sugar cane, tonka, and guava.
Review: I get apples and cream out of this at first, and it's a really nice, light and sweet scent. I get more cream and sugar than anything else as it dries, with a fruity base. I do wish there was more apple and passionfruit. I'd describe it as a cute perfume, sweet and girly.
Yew-Trees (Rappaccini's Garden)
Piercingly sweet berries over evergreen boughs, deepened by the tree’s sacred wood. [Sounds tasty and promising!]
Review: This is a much warmer version of Snow Bunny; I think pine is the predominent note in this. It's a warm, syrupy herbal. Folks in the forum note a similarity of this to cocunut, which I definitely understand, and it's bizarre. Nevertheless, it's dark, and sweet, and tasty. I like it.
Maenad (Diabolus)
Orgiastic mayhem in the extreme: sweet strawberry and orange blossom distorted by carnation, black poppy and hibiscus. [Yay, orgiastic mayhem!]
Review: Hm. On the one hand this seems like an evil fruity perfume, which is neat, but on the other, it's sort of a weirdly familiar candy strawberry smell. I think I like it more than I don't? I'm not entirely sure about this one, which probably makes it a no go.
51 (Wanderlust)
Luminescent, glowing, and otherworldly: green mandarin, neroli, honeydew, white amber, guava, freesia, white and green musks hovering over desert scrub, smashed wood, and the dry, biting scent of night air over the Groom Lake salt flats.
Review: Ooh, this is green and melon-y. Very nice and light. I don't get much woods, but it's certainly reminiscent of dry desert greenery. It'd be great for summer.
Ether (Phoenix Steamworks)
Translucent blooms, ethereal white resins, and davana.
Review: Interesting, there's a definite green core but there's also some smoky floral hovering about it, like a white mist. I think I pick up some citrus, which may be the davana. It's worthy of the name, but in the end, perhaps I need something more solid.
Come to Me (Bewitching Brews, The Conjure Bag)
A phenomenally powerful attractant. Sexual and commanding in the extreme. [Awesome?]
Review: This is green, fresh and very bright. I think there may be verbena in this, because it seems similar to Mag Mell, but not as grassy. It's really clean and pretty. I have no idea what's in this, but I like it. As it dries down more, I can smell florals coming out. Great summer scent, I'm sure. It does seem a little soapy, but I don't mind.
Penitence (Sin and Salvation)
Smell sanctified! A blend of pure, pious frankincense and graceful myrrh.
Review: Is it any coincidence that I get this frimped when it's the only base in the current Chaos Theory set that I haven't tried? Tch! Anyway, I quite like the smell. It's almost citrus-y. It's also very warm, strong and sweet. Maybe too strong, this is one to dab.
