The thing that sucks most about adulthood

This is from a letter I sent to Jessi today, but it's a non-specific rant that I'm comfortable sending it out there. The immediate circumstances is that I'm going to a career fair Tuesday, and I asked Jessi if she wanted to meet afterward. She could not. This is what I had in response:

Sometimes I miss that. And I miss being able to go to the library, or the bookstore, and running into people I know randomly*, and knowing that whenever I go to the dining hall someone I know will be around to eat with. That doesn't quite happen at the Guilderland Moe's.

But working at a mostly-undergrad college reminds me of what's bad about it, such as being unable to avoid people you don't want to see, and how claustrophobia can set in. Sometimes.

* - As much. I ran into a co-worker in the lingerie department at Macy's with my hand full of panties. That was awkward. I guess that happens more in a smaller city though.
