SPN drabble
For scoopchick, who requested Sam/Castiel with "fairytale" as the prompt. I'm not sure if this is anything like what you had in mind, it's short and darkish. But it is my first attempt at Sam so I hope you like it. :)
Afterglow
He lets the false peace of climax steal over him, enjoys the pleasure pain still ebbing through his body, drifts through the bliss-filled few minutes of the quiet silence of his mind; knowing even as he does that it won't last. It never does.
One motion, one whisper of a sigh would be all it would take and he'd long for the days when his brother would laugh and tell him that the Bible was nothing but a book of fairy tales and that he was a fool for believing. Now Dean carries one around in his pocket like he used to carry their father's journal.
He'd wish they could go back to the time when things had seemed so simple. When it was just the hunt and the kill; when there were no voices to haunt him in the night and waves of regret didn't eat at his gut; when he knew dreams were dreams and not some preview of the bloodbath looming over the horizon.
The stillness of mind never lasts...but it's nice while it does.
