You seriously need to go re-watch some Btvs if you think Spike would call Xander "Pet" EVERY OTHER SENTENCE.

Everyone knows Spike calls Xander "pet" every third sentence, and "nummy treat" comes up at least every fifth sentence, unless they're cuddling. Then it comes every other sentence.

I don't mind it being used once or twice in a fic but excessive repetition of the endearment drives me up the wall.

That really bugs me about fanfic, the overuse of certain words or phrases associated with a character. Like thats' all they said in the entire run of the show.
