hm...buy alcohol to drink at home...shop at second hand stores, outlets like nordstrom rack, take the bus to work, call your credit card company and ask them to lower your interest rate, change your phone plan (like me ahah) and go back to using payphones - FUN!, have doods buy you dinner/drinks. yay!
ummmm i dunno...sell some stuff for savings? then start putting aside $50 every payday into a savings account. the more you budget the less frivilous you will be with your money.
im really good with budgeting.
ps - thanks for the call last night!! if you have cingular you can call me anytime. and oh - you can write me anytime at work too!
Don't take money with you when you go shopping. Only after you decide what you want to buy, go home and get your money and then go back. you should lose the compulse buy and you probably will decide you really don't want it by the time you get home.
Reading this I remembered what I needed to do today... Get my credit card out of my wallet. For awhile I wasn't even carrying my debit card. I actually might go back to that. I would pull my budgeted expenses out in cash at payday (gas/ fun$/ groceries/ etc) and when I was out of money I wouldn't touch the account. That worked well for me.
oh yeah, that's what i do too. i budget for a certain amount of spending money and i take that out for myself and keep it in my wallet. im less likely to spend it all. in fact, i had $100 left over fromt he $120 I alloted myself last payday. i was shocked.
and then I take whatever amount for gas money I budgeted for and take that out in cash and keep it in my ashtray. helps to keep track of it and keep you within your driving means.
but ya for falling gas prices - did anyone see the $2.83 on 4th street?
