It's scary how there seems to be such a correlation between having cable as a child and being less intelligent. It seems that over half of the people in this community didn't have cable at a time when around 85% of society did.
I don't value tv. I have mostly ignored it most of my life. It's scary - I'd be walking my dogs and night and look in people's windows and see that flickering blue light in practically every household. Some people (like my sister) never turn that thing off! It seems like that's all most people do with their lives. Scares me.

I grew up in the 60s -- black and white with three channels and rabbit ears. My first color TV was around 1986 or so! I remember my father saw the opening sequence to Get Smart at a friend's house once, and after that whenever it came on we'd shout "Car's red! Suit's blue!" although it was still just as gray as ever!
