I am aware that a lot of the members of Christian and talk about this on the general boards, but being a Christian does not mean someone is or should be an idiot, nor should their idiocy be entertained as a valid opinion just because their bigotry is supported by their book. When they are acting incredibly ignorant, and saying that there is 'proof ( Read more... )

I agree with you. There's nothing wrong with being religious (whatever your religion). However, there is everything wrong with being an ass and then acting like your religion gives you the right to do so.

Thanks. I just really needed to vent this and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't let this up for very long in any case. Plus the mods there said people should not post on the topic at all anymore. So of course if you go against that that will mean you'd get a warning or something to that effect ( ... )

Thanks! And I agree. I may not be American myself but I think it's something that should apply to pretty much all democratic governments. Plus I kind of care what happens to people there too***. Plus Britian isn't perfect in this regard either sometimes ( ... )

***A part of it is just not liking to see people in general hurt or be impaired for something they shouldn't be ostracised for. Another much more selfish part is because America is kind of the big cheese and is almost the keystone species on the world ecology of politics. Growing future leaders in a certain environment could make a huge difference. Domestic stuff in America can eventually affect other countries. (Yes that's very selfish. I know.).
