For some months now, most of our rooms at home have been labelled with (generally a phonetically-spelled version of) their names. My favourite is 'owt' on the front door

Me too! It's made me re-conceptualise the front door as the portal to the dangerous and enticing world of 'owt', rather than just a boring old door.
