a very lengthy update on my little life

So Brendon and I have decided to "take a break" for a while and try just being friends. It's been about a week since this decision was made and so far so good. We still see each other often, just not nearly what it used to be. It's hard but I feel like a weight has been lifted off me. I get to do whatever I want whenever I want for the first time since last year. It's nice. I'm not sure how things are going to turn out and I'm totally okay with that.

I hate my apartment. May could not come soon enough!
My shower is hit or miss with hot water which is horrible when it's cold. The maintenance people supposedly came and fixed it on Wednesday, but I still have no hot water! The sink in the kitchen has some seriously scalding water though, so I'm not sure what the deal is. So frustrating.

I'm looking for a new apartment which is very exciting, but disappointing because Denton has the worst selection. There are very few semi-nice apartments near campus that are not "college apartments" (which I will NEVER do again).
I'm looking for a 1 Bedroom apartment with washer/dryer connections and a decent pet policy; that seems to be impossible to find near campus.

So far Pace's Crossing seems to be the most promising. They allow dogs! And their floor plans are named after artists which I thought was very cute. The complex is nice, it's got a long walking/jogging trail which will be lovely once I have my golden retriever puppy. :) It's about the same price as what I'm paying right now but I'll have the apartment all to myself. I have completely given up on roommates.

Picasso floor plan:

504 square feet

Van Gogh

581 square feet

The difference between the two in price is only about 30-40 bucks per month and the Van Gogh has an optional fireplace AND two closets. So I'm leaning toward that one.

The only downfall is that Pace's Crossing is off of 288 (which is pretty far from campus and the busiest road in Denton plagued with constant construction and traffic). BUT there is a UNT shuttle that stops right outside of the complex! So we'll see. I'm still looking.

School is going alright. Very busy, which at the moment I'm thankful for. Art history sucks a nut as usual.

Built and stretched my first canvas this last week! I know it seems lame, but I am so proud that I can do that. They look so much more professional and it's way cheaper than buying a pre-made one. And I got some pretty sweet tore up knuckles from the canvas. Apparently that stuff is pretty rough on skin.

Well I think that's all to report. Superbowl is today? Yay football. I'll be watching for the commercials while slaving away at art history.

Oh and PS ladies, if you have horribly fried hair like I do, Dove's Intensive Repair shampoo and conditioner is amazing. Try it out.
