Too bad the reps in even the most liberal parts of Iowa don't agree with gay marriage. I should know, I grew up there.
I'd say there's better than 60% chance that they amend the constitution. Even if the state has more independents than dems, and more dems than republicans. It is also a state that prospered under ~16 years of republican governorship, and suffered once Vilsak came into office. (See budget surplus to deficit conversion within 2 years...)
As happy as I am to see it legal in Iowa (again), I have little faith that it will stay legal.
