On the cooking of goat (and other fine foods).

Last night, I cooked with goat for the first time. Got a big flat of bone-in goat leg chunks, two eggplants, two medium onions, and two cans (ick!) of diced tomatoes. Very regrettable, that last--use fresh tomatoes if you make this yourself ( Read more... )

Nifty! If I could still eat mammal, goat would be at the top of my to-try list. Sounds like this would be a good recipe for a crock pot once you got to the combining stage, except for the grilling over charcoal. One could possibly do that the night before--I used to use the last of the heat on the barbecue to roast eggplants for baba ganouj.

I like to slow cook goat in lemon juice and later add molasses That was in my mexican cookbook

What does goat taste like? I'm all for the eating of tasty animals, but goat isn't one I've previously experienced.

Last night, I cooked with goat for the first time.

I don't usually cook with them, since they always refuse to wash their hooves before dicing the vegetables.

Seriously, that sounds interesting.

Goat=gamier than lamb but quite tasty.
