I live on the top floor of an old semi-run-down building. The windowsills are rotted away, there are no grounded outlets (everything is 2 prong) and i didn't know they still made fuses like this (big glass knobs). The landlord is fixing things up. He's hired someone to redo the wood molding that covers the top part of the building (my part) ( Read more... )

oh for gawd's sake get your mind out of the porno gutter. I'm talking about regular human interaction between people. I imagine Ina Garten, one of my favorite cooking show hosts, would have laughed and chatted and made coffee and muffins. Me, I wish he'd go away so I could hit the fridge for second breakfast, I'm trying to feed my cold.

Ha-ha! My mind wasn't in the gutter. I live in the gutter but my mind doesn't. If he hasn't smiled then I see no reason to smile back in a personal way. Ina would serve him -- I would imagine -- only on TV. Who knows what inviting him in for cake and tea would suggest in his mind? You can't know cuz he hasn't smiled. He knows your privacy is interrupted and I would imagine he doesn't want to "invade". But a polite, apologetic smile would help to ease the tension. And that's just my take.

I hope you comfort that cold with some hot Chicken Noodle soup.

How is your ankle?
