Part One Now for part two, in which Richter is socially inept, Decus meets the love of his life, the "Hunter of Evil" is awakened and Yuan is a total jerk about Palmacosta.
Part Two
At last, Decus goes to meet with that stranger from before, who is staring at the Raine statue for some reason.
And he's still flustered like a schoolgirl, so the stranger does the talking. He asks Decus if he's seen a girl with a red jewel in her forehead. Decus has seen no such girl.
The stranger leaves Decus with some rather immortal words that will be flashbacked to many times.
Also he seems to think that Decus is a cowardly, stinky dog. Wow, this guy is a jerk.
Meanwhile, Decus is still being plagued by the mysterious howling sounds. It's coming from the lakebed, so let's investigate! Through the... uhm... Point and click map. )=
... Oh snap it's an Eggbear. We did not see this one coming, even though Aunt Flora, Uncle Alba and even the world map warned about monsters appearing at the lakebed. Decus attempts a random battle, but he sucks at it and the Eggbear prepares to devour him.
But a chick comes out of nowhere to save Decus! Hey, it's that girl from the intro!
Awww...~
The Eggbear is still being ferocious. The girl says she can take it on her own. Decus just fumbles and mutters, because he's too flustered to be coherent.
Is he really, mysterious girl? Is he really?
And so they defeat the Eggbear!
The girl is ready to depart, but Decus finally finds his voice again and stops her. She introduces herself as Alice and seems to recognize Decus from the intro cutscene. Decus, however, has forgotten all about saving her.
Whoah. Whoah whoah whoah. Whoah. ... What is this blatant OOC?
Oh yes, also, she has a red jewel on her forehead.
And so Decus returns to Luin to find the flamboyant stranger and tell him he saw Alice. For some reason he's having a chat with the mayor. Turns out, his name is Richter.
Richter becomes atrociously impatient and begins to shake the information out of him. Luin's mayor just stands there and watches.
Back to the lakebed, to find Alice!
Uncle Alba is being a total douche, but Richter just walks right past him, dragging Decus along.
OBSCENELY LONG FIGHT TUTORIAL, GOOOO. A bit late, considering Decus and Alice killed an Eggbear just a few scenes ago.
... Richter truly is delightfully retarded in the social department.
At last they reach an interesting room. Richter tells Decus to wait outside, because there's a monster inside. Well, this seems plausible!
But then Decus hears a girl screaming and enters the room anyway.
~GASP~
Decus fully intends to protect this girl he only just met. You know. The one who is apparently attempting to revive a Demon Lord. ... Alice claims he's the Lord Of All Monsters, but I don't see how that makes her look any better.
Also, she has no problems with fleeing and leaving Decus to get killed. Wow, that's kind of mean.
Decus will defend her anyway!
So Richter summons Centurion Aqua to take care of him. Centurion Aqua in turn summons a monster to dispose of Decus.
That is the second biggest turtle I've ever seen.
Luckily, the voices inside Decus' head can provide good advice!
... Oh wait, no. It's only Centurion Tenebrae. Tenebrae says that Alice has chosen Decus as her "Knight". He must forge a pact to become the Knight of Ratatosk, so he'll have enough power to protect Alice. ... I DON'T SEE WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG.
... "Hunter of Evil"...? Whaaat?
Yeaah! Whooooh! My first title! Sadly, it does not come with a costume.
So Decus kicks some monster ass. Aqua falls unconscious and he can proceed. Also, he receives the Sorceror's Ring. Now it's time for more tutorials!
Monster-related tutorials, that is! *groooan*
Long story short, Imp and Wolf join the party. They have ridiculous nicknames. One short dungeon later, we run into Richter once more! Apparently, a mysterious stranger whooped his ass. Richter attempted to hold him off, but his flamboyant hair flicks were simply no match for the stranger's fabulous still-frame shots.
... Oh yes, also, the stranger is after a Core.
And so Decus backtracks a bit to find Aqua and forces her to help Richter.
Oooh, two years ago, you say? Isn't that when the worlds were reunited? Interesting.
ONWARD INTO THE NEXT ROOM.
Where Alice is facing off against the mysterious fabulous stranger. ... Hold on, it's Yuan again! Hiii Yuan! Trying to kill teenage girls again, are you? Nothing new, here.
... Yes I have no clue what this is. It's like the Dance of Death. Needless to say, Decus decides to interfere.
Don't you mean... "Who the hell are you?" lololol.
Decus is outraged! He knows this fellow was involved in the massacre in Palmacosta!
... I'm not gonna lie. I laughed. I laughed so hard.
Decus, there's something you should know about Yuan and Palmacosta. I've got three words for you. "Giant fearsome tree".
In any case, Decus finds that he'll never forgive Yuan for these horrible crimes and, with his newfound power of Ratatosk, hopes to give him a beating he'll never forget. Alice decides to help him out.
Will Alice and Decus win the battle against this fabulous Seraph? Will Alice acknowledge Decus' existence? Where will they go from here?
Stay tuned!
