In which Alice is murdered, Sheena tricks everyone, Marta and Emil suffer from hypothermia and Tenebrae dies a tragic hero's death.
Part Eight
Outside the Temple of Ice, they run into Raine and Genis again. Turns out, they have no clue about what happened in Flanoir. However, they found out that the owner of the accessory shop took Glacies' Core. So now Alice, Decus and Regal will go meet with the accessory shop owner, while Raine and Genis go towards Meltokio- that's where Yuan's Rheaird was headed.
Accessory shop owner, in turn, says that his son went back to the Temple of Ice to put the core back where he found it, because they didn't think they'd be able to find any buyers. ... I find this a rather suspicious story, but... Back to the Temple of Ice, then!
This is plot-relevant info! Keep this one in mind.
... Nope. No core. Figures. That mean old man tricked us!
At this point, Regal decides to speak up. Apparently the old guy we met wasn't the accessory shop owner at all. It was an imposter. Regal, couldn't you have pointed this out sooner?
Suddenly, Alice runs off. She must've gotten sick of Decus's smell.
Some boulders block the path, but Regal simply blasts them aside.
They proceed to find Richter getting ready to kill Alice. Richter noooo!
Aqua steps in to provide a distraction in the form of a random battle.
Meanwhile, Richter stabs Alice.
And takes Ratatosk's Core. Welp, Game Over! Let's see those endcredits.
SHE'S DEEEAAADDD. D=
... Oh, no. She's just trolling us. Sheena saved her, apparently.
Decus is insanely happy to see her again, nearly suffocating her with his Eau de Seduction stink.
That body is just a stick dressed up to look like Alice. Wow, I can't believe we all fell for that.
And then Sheena falls down a hole. ... Apparently that is her official character trait now. Falling into holes.
One floor below, we find out she fell on Marta.
Once she finds out Marta and Emil are with the Vanguard, though, she drops her like a ton of bricks.
Celsius is summoned to put up a huge ice wall between Emil and Marta, and the party. Emil and Marta are now effectively trapped in something similar to a freezer.
... Are you sure they're asleep? They look kind of dead.
Not that Alice would mind if they were dead.
Outside the temple, the situation is explained to Sheena. She decides to team up with us!
Because if Lloyd's somehow involved in all this, Sheena would indeed be one of the few to beat some sense into him.
The real accessory shop owner (Penguin Grandpa) says that Glacies' Core was taken to Meltokio to be sold along. Let's go!
Chapter Five, Truth Behind The Mask. ... Whose mask? Yuan's mask? He does seem to like tacky masks in this game.
Outside the item shop, they run into a familiar face. Seles Wilder's butler! ... Well, it's probably not important.
Further into the city, they run into Marta once more. She summons a monster to fight us. We'd rather not fight in the city, but...
Marta, you're terrible.
After defeating the monster, Decus claims that it's all over for Marta. She disagrees.
And the monster grabs him from behind. Ouch.
Oh, that can't be good.
Marta escapes and the others attempt to free Decus before the monster explodes.
Keep pulling, Regal! If you can break handcuffs, you can break that monster's arm!
Eventually, Tenebrae is the one who gets the monster to drop Decus. Then he flies off with it, high above the city.
.... Where he explodes.
Tenebrae noooo...!
Ventus' Core appears out of nowhere and speaks to Decus. Then it enters his body, causing him to go into Ratatosk Mode.
Now Decus knows what must be done. They have to go to the Temple of Darkness, where Tenebrae's altar is. He'll have reverted into his core form, and the core should be there.
Will they find Tenebrae in time? What relevance did Tokunaga have? What is the truth behind the mask?
