Part fourteen

In which Alice and Decus face off against Emil and Marta at last, Yuan's followed child-grabbing classes, Lloyd shares a tender moment with his bff in Flanoir and the hot springs once again lead to shenanigans.

Part Fifteen

A bit further into the Ginnungagap, Alice and Decus run into their mortal enemies, Emil and Marta.

Right back atcha, Marta!

Ah... Hypocrisy. Yes, there's a lot of that going on this game.

Meanwhile, Decus demands to know why Emil did all those horrible things. I'd have thought it was obvious by now. It's because Marta told him to.

And so, it's time to fight these two. I can't wait to kick their asses.

After the fight, Emil gets all butthurt about losing and slaps Alice. He's fighting Marta's fights for her, now.

And so Decus will, in turn, fight Alice's fights! See, this is what loyal boyfriend knights do.

"My toy sword will injure you eventually, Decus!"

Just as Decus takes a swipe in retaliation, Marta jumps in front of Emil to selflessly take the hit.

Oh Marta, you resorted to an Iron Maiden to try and get Emil to love you? I was under the impression he already did, but... Well, you are a shameless and obnoxious fangirl. Makes sense you'd use a failsafe.

Oh mah gosh Marta nooo

She's dead, Jim. You can't see her blood, but it's probably just invisible. I'm sure it's all over the place.

And so Emil loses it and slaps Decus across the face. ... With his sword. Ouch.

Tenebrae to the rescue~

But Emil manages to grab a hold of Decus' sword and rebounds into battle with a thirst for revenge!

So Alice steps in to... mortally wound Emil. ... Just like how Marta was mortally wounded. ... See all the invisible blood? You see it?

See, clearly he's dying. Because his words imply that he is.

How... I'm not sure what the word is that I'm looking for. It's not romantic, it's not sad, it's not depressing... It's very... Uhm.

Decus thinks the way they died is kind of romantic, though, but Alice doesn't seem to care.

A bit further on they run into Yuan, who was spared from Ratatosk's trap because he has Martel's protection. Aww, how sweet.

He grabs hold of Decus (ohoh?) and they have a little talk about how Decus had better not betray his trust.

Then they run into the rest of the pary and save them from a rocky fate. (lol, see what I did there? Rocky cause they'd been turned into stone.)

... Gee Colette, the fact that you couldn't move wasn't enough of a tip-off?

And so they leave the Ginnungagap again for sidequests!

Now, to Flanoir, where a butthurt man gets mad because he saw Yuan kill his sister. Debatable. It was probably Emil in disguise.

But Yuan says he can't entirely deny these accusations, as he doesn't know who the man's sister was. Which leaves everyone to make questionable faces at him. How many people have you killed over the years, Yuan? He decides to go for a walk to clear his head. Naturally, Alice and Decus stalk after him.

And watch him meet with..... Lloyd? Guess he's taking another break from tree-guarding duties. Wow, Lloyd, you'd only cry for Yuan? I get the feeling you'd shed tears like a little girl if you so much as drop your sandwich peanutbutter-side down on the floor. Then again, this is the game, not the Animation series.

Hold on, are we invading on a private conversation? Should we back away, now? No, this is totally platonic, right? In a friendly fellow-tree-guardian sort of way? ... Yeahhh, that's it.

Let's get the hell outta here just in case, though! To Meltokio!

Hm. Now that he mentions it, the ponytails are eerily similar.

Oh. Yeah. Because Yuan hunted for cores- aka jewels. And Decus thinks of him as a rolemodel. Dude, Decus, you really don't want to be like Yuan. I'm warning you now- don't.

HOT SPRINGS HELL YEAAHHH!~ Let's send the girls in first.

As is tradition, Zelos is eavesdropping on the chicks as they compare boob sizes. Decus and Yuan watch in awe.

Oh, Alice is flat. But we already knew this. But the 'title obtained' tune is overheard, and the girls realize someone is eavesdropping.

Zelos and Decus make a break for it, but Yuan is too slow. ... Despite his Seraph reflexes. Idk, he was probably spacing out.

Of course, Yuan is known for hiding in bushes and behind trees, so finding him here comes as a shock to none of the veteran girls. Meanwhile, Alice is disgusted by this shocking new truth.

... Welp. I can't say it's not a fitting title. Again, he's known for being a stalker.

Will the gang face off against Richter next? What are his plans, anyway? And will this game have a satisfying ending?

Stay tuned!
