It really depends on how you look at it. I saw it as saying "stop forcing your views on us" rather than "shut up you idiot." What you just demonstrated is something that happens alot in our legal systems, not quoting an entire sentence and then twisting it in the wrong direction. The entire sentence was "Stop patronizing us with your evangelical bible slapping and open your mind to tolerance."

I agree with cyanide. The bible has fallen into the hands of many corrupted and twisted minds. And the bible could have been rewritten so that believers would more likely fear their God more than anything, and when people have fear , they are easily controlled.

I totally agree with cyanide too... there are many policial aspects of the bible that could've been added "accidently" during translation simply for government reasons. Like the whole thing about no sex before marriage. If you convice everyone that it's immoral, STD transmission rates will inevitably drop.
