A Question About Cover Songs

Oct 22, 2007 13:06

So I was having this discussion with some friends on my break this morning:

If you could choose any band, regardless of whether or not said band is still together or even alive and had them cover a song of your choosing, who and what would it be?

I chose NIN circa-1993 and "Don't Fear the Reaper"

What's yours?

That's one I'd never have thought of. I'm kinda afraid right now. "HUMP this way, and HUMP this way"

That would be a mash up. Ish. I'm thinking more along the lines of him singing my Humps like he sang Walk this way

Well, Weird Al does style parodies as well as straight song parodies. "Germs", for instance, is a Nine Inch Nails style parody, though not a direct song parody. "Dare to be Stupid" was his style parody of Devo. And I think that "Everything You Know is Wrong" is his They Might Be Giants style parody.
