I feel the exact same way about school and everything, like exactly. It's kinda scary how you described me to a "T".

Like you with art, I can't make a career with dance. =/

No one really has any idea what they want to do because our school system sucks. Actually, replace school with education. Since all you're really taught in academic classes is to reciprocate what you've been taught, it only takes one bad experience to turn you away from a certain subject.

I've bounced around from math to history to foreign languages to political science to economics to the combination of philosophy, politcs and economics, and then back to economics and now I hate everything and have no ambition to go forward in any particular field. Let's go join the army. =[

Same here. Exactly.

"I feel like everything I strive for is affected by my current emotional state."

My god. I never realized it before, but that is exactly how I feel.

So, after deciding that I wont drop out of school, even if I don't have something to strive for, deciding that suicide is not for me, deciding that being a bum would be unpleasant, and deciding that money seems to bring a bit of comfort, all I know is what I don't want to do.

striderremix nailed it. how are we suppossed to know what we want to do before we know what any of the jobs actually look like and what we'll be doing when we get them. besides showing what its like to be a teacher, school do nothing for students in terms of helping them decide on a specific career..which i kinda thought was the whole point of school in the first place.

with that said, most ppl will switch jobs 7 times on average in their life. not sure if that is accurate, but they all end up doin something. the only real important thing is that u get a degree in something and while u do it, HAVE FUN.

p.s. i know this will help more than any of the garbage above. cinnomon toast owns. eat that when u get a craving and u might get super powers.
