Mer, I was so excited to see a new story from you, and this is just wonderful. I love the back-and-forth of the flashbacks, how a diabetic cat is still lower-maintenance than House, that nameless silver tabby. And the German porn, heh. I love all of this.

I'm pretty sure newborn triplets would be lower-maintenance than House, at least when he's not in hostile indifference mode - Sarah is a cakewalk in comparison :) I keep meaning to find out what the deal is with German porn, but I'm not sure I want that on my internet history...

Thanks for reading!

Thank you! He's a bit pathetic, but that just makes me love him more.

Thank you! I'm glad Wilson has Sarah, but I'd be happier if he had a human support network as well...

Mer, I've been having a wretched day and now you've made it all better. I can't tell you which part I loved most because I loved all of it.
(PS Did you see the zombie walk this weekend? A co-worker stumbled into it and it freaked her out.)

I'm glad I could make your day better - story successful!

I missed zombie walk, though we talked about it in the office on Friday (a couple of my co-workers are terrified of zombies, so they were freaked out without even seeing it :D)

Thanks for reading!

I read somewhere once that dogs regard their owner as the leader of the pack, the alpha dog, whereas cats regard their owner as just another cat - an equal. So when a dog shows you what appears to be affection it's really submission, but when a cat shows you affection it's REAL affection. (BTW I like both dogs and cats!) Looking at it that way I can see why a cat would appeal to Wilson.

Exactly. I've met cats that are indiscriminate in their affections (my sister's cat loves everybody), but having a cat love you relatively unconditionally always feels like more of an accomplishment.

Wilson’s world was governed by a different truism: everybody dies. That's one of those lines that wrenches my heart because it's so painfully true.

I love this, and not just because I love cats. It all just fits perfectly, and is such a beautiful, melancholy look at how Wilson wound up taking in Sarah.

Sadly, "Everybody leaves" worked just as well, but I liked the rhyme better than the alliteration...

I'm glad Wilson has Sarah, and not just because I love cats as well.

Thanks for reading!
