Idylls

What I've decided I want to do one day is have an Idylls of the King feast-day and party, in which the entire Idylls are read (and acted!) alloud by amazing people I know, costumes are worn and shared, Excalibur is watched (and maybe the Sword in the Stone), and the food is creative and faux-medieval (but, naturally, not really medieval - chips and ( Read more... )

I'll be Morgan le Fey, then. And you'll be the LADY OF THE LAKE, of course!

Silver Gown!!!

The whole reason I wanted a silver satin gown in the first place as a teenager was because of the Lady of Lyonesse in Sword of the Valiant, a movie from my EARLY EARLY EARLY CHILDHOOD.

My big brother recently purchased it for me as a gift, and boy does it suck like certain kinds of porn! Whew. But I can see why I loved her dress as a small girl.

Sounds like the party that started the SCA! Only with more movies.

Cooking with medieval recipes is fun!

Ha! I feel as if the SCA is always there, visible just out-of-the-corner of my eye, but never really present. Viva la dress-up games, yes?

And - Oooo! Neat!! Thanks for the link!

Who are you, and WHAT have you done with my Arthuriana-despising Jess?

Hey, I've always liked the Lady of Shallot!!

That said, I have NO IDEA, man. No idea. I think it might be like when you're pregnant and have cravings for disgusting things you'd never EAT when you're sane, except uh, I'm craving for story and Arthuriana and stuff. Hopefully this means in nine months time I'll let drop some awesome piece of art! Or something.

I think the anonymousness of it is proof that you are actually possessed.

Right now, being on a boat floating along the river with a nice breeze going sounds so much nicer than 30 degrees and freezing winds.
