:(

That is a damned shame, but on the humorous side, maybe after a few years of expanded medical marijuana use people will chill out enough to accept eachother.

That's the thing! It's like, way to go, Maine, your weed is more important than the rights of your citizens! AWESOME.

Yeah... I kinda don't give a shit anymore. Putting civil liberties up to a popular vote is stupid and misses the point. I shouldn't have to kiss straight peoples asses, so I'm not gonna. Too many polite and passive homos won't hit below the belt, politically speaking, and many others are suckers and think you can make a silk purse out of a sows ear wrt religion.

I know I shouldn't get emotionally caught up in voting referendums on civil rights, and this is where I show my little political newbie ass, but it's still so fucking depressing when a bunch of voters get to go "ahahaha, no really, no homo," esp. after how uplifting the summer was on this issue. The aftermath of Prop 8 was just so fucking distressing, I just didn't want to go through it again.

Also it's hard to wait for the courts to do their job when there is basically no glimmer on THAT horizon when it comes to the federal level.

Oh, but. The hate crimes expansion is reeeeeally close to passing. So that's good.

I need to find out what happened with that Washington domestic partnerships bill...
