Yeah... I kinda don't give a shit anymore. Putting civil liberties up to a popular vote is stupid and misses the point. I shouldn't have to kiss straight peoples asses, so I'm not gonna. Too many polite and passive homos won't hit below the belt, politically speaking, and many others are suckers and think you can make a silk purse out of a sows ear wrt religion.
I know I shouldn't get emotionally caught up in voting referendums on civil rights, and this is where I show my little political newbie ass, but it's still so fucking depressing when a bunch of voters get to go "ahahaha, no really, no homo," esp. after how uplifting the summer was on this issue. The aftermath of Prop 8 was just so fucking distressing, I just didn't want to go through it again.
Also it's hard to wait for the courts to do their job when there is basically no glimmer on THAT horizon when it comes to the federal level.
