I kind of had the same problem with Verizon. They don't offer their service in our area, and failed to let us know. We went two weeks waiting for them to turn it on. Then threaten us to return the equpiment that we "stole" from them, and were going to press charges if they didn't get it back by a certain date.

My mom had their phone service and it was no prize either. It would randomly make 911 distress calls at strange hours. Among other things.
