A sign of life
Hell of a time to post, huh?
Well I'm gonna spare the details of what's gone on between the last post I made and now. Most of it's a blur of just seemingly random this and that anyway. So I figure if nothing in all of that was particularly noteworthy, then I'm just not going to worry about it. Actually, there was some cool stuff, but I'll be getting to that in a little bit. My original point being that if whatever transpired was important, I either babbled about it to most of anyone that reads this via AiM or I just didn't care enough by the time I got to my computer.
Anyway the main event that's kept me occupied for the past week is that pyrokitty, thechanchan, cubanb and I all got to hang out with our old friend again. I won't go into specific details because it's both exceptionally long, but it's also obscenely complicated and part of my re-telling is likely going to be adjusted by my personal tendencies to hold grudges against people that cross me the wrong way. But anyway, the week was pretty awesome; went to more Gamestops in a week than I normally go to in a month. We spent a great deal of time playing video games and watching anime.
We also caught Tron: Legacy with our friend Jovi. Good times were generally had by all. It apparently didn't go over too well with some of us; personally I enjoyed it and thought it did a fairly decent job of being faithful to the original, new plot hax not withstanding. I liked most of the redesigns and only really lamented the lack of a tank scene... cause I'm lame and thought those were kinda cool for the little bit we saw them in the original. But we got a mid-air dogfight and I'm always down for those.
Otherwise, yeah. Lots of gaming. I bought myself a copy of "Super Robot Taisen OG: Endless Frontier" that I've wanted for a year or so now. Roman admittedly spoiled our little group and purchased some new games we'd all been eying individually. But we played Continuum Shift(We subsequently spent a good ten mins being HORRIBLY immature and gawking at Makoto's acorn throw taunt... go look and you'll see why), Street Fighter IV, Marvel VS Capcom 2, Prototype and Vanquish. I was also introduced to Basara. Also was introduced to Koizumi and finally got to see some of the old series Captain Taylor. Classic stuff.
In general, it was good taking the time to reconnect. We hadn't really seen each other since about 2005 and some years afterward, some shit went down that basically caused us to somewhat willfully fall out of touch until recent days. Suffice it to say, I'm very pleased when I say that it's good to see that some people never change.
But yeah, dropped him off at the airport for his return trip today. He made it back safely and has already joked that he misses the living room couch down here. I'm hoping our next encounter will reassemble at least most of our old group.
Aside from that, I should be going to sleep soon. I need to be up in about five or so hours to book it to the college and try petitioning some classes. I would've done so back on Wednesday, but I couldn't find parking... I seriously spent two hours circling the varied parking lots before saying "FUCK THIS SHIT!" and driving back home, looking like a storm cloud.
