Check your fingers!

Okay, I've been on vacation and finally found something weird to comment on in my new journal. I found this article that compares finger lengths to interest in slash. Read on:

Katherine Salmon, for example, a psychologist from the University of Redlands, decided to look for a connection between finger lengths and taste in erotica.

It's a given ( Read more... )

Well,my ratio is 1.01, right in the middle. What does that indicate? Interest in hermaphrodites? And why is it I think studies like that are entirely superfluous? I wonder who pays for them.

Still, thanks for posting the study. I love slash (and once even wrote a bit) and it's fascinating how many people now try to subject it to "serious" investigation!

My first comment! Yes, the study seems a bit ridiculous, but people have to do something for their university thesis!

Are any of your slash stories on the web?

It was Garak/Bashir slash from Star Trek:Deep Space Nine, and yes, some stories are out there in the Net, but quite scattered on various pages. Come to think, I simply could repost them on my LJ. I have to warn you, however, that I have a twisted imagination. OK, as a member of unlimitedepower you probably don't mind a bit of weirdness....;-)

Oh, and about the studies: I'm all for science, in fact, I think that a much more scientific approach to affairs won't hurt humanity, but I consider studies of the "correlation between unemployment in rural Switzerland with the red-shift of Sigma Beteigeuze" type a waste of talent and money. That's finding answers to questions that nobody asked in the first hand.

I agree with you about the scientific studies. Good example!

I like twisted imaginings, lol, so I'm sure I'd like yours! I haven't had much time to look through Unlimitedepower, but I like what I've seen so far. A Garak/Bashir story would be interesting. They did seem a bit... friendly!

You're another Ian fan :D I thought I knew all of them haha. I love your icons. I didn't know 'tilt' and 'cool' (and 'Henry' only as theatre programme), could you show me the original pictures?

Hi, Appsius! I'm definitely an Ian fan, but am only barely a presence on LJ so far. I will try to put up the original pictures when I get a chance, and 'friend' you in the meantime. ^_^
