Clockwise, or counter-clockwise?

I must really be right brained because I do not understand how that is even ambigious.

that's what i would've said if it didn't totally switch up on me. You can also have the same people looking at the image at the same time, and it will be twirling in different directions. it's very weird.

i am totally right brained too.. i could NOT see it any other way UNTIL I had my daughter show how it CAN go counter clockwise..

the key is RIGHT when one leg goes to cross the other. for us it looks like the right thigh faces us and the leg points towards us.'

for them the left leg is extended and pointing away from us at that exact moment. i concentrated. and poof. it switched

crazy

your kid is smart as hell. I've figured out how to make the dancer switch up willy nilly, but i still can't actually understand, much less verbalize and define how it is that the brain percieves the image differently.

:-D

when i look at her from below, she's turning counter clockwise.

when i look at her from above, she going the ooposite direction. :)

here's what i don't get: it's practically always clockwise for me. i did experience the "switch up" once, the last time i saw this thing. but that was pretty much a fluke.

but... i mean... i'm pretty much the guy in the counter-clockwise description. and not, ya know, because i want to be that guy? but, i really am. i'm a frickin' engineer, fer chrissakes.

*shrug*

whatev.

unless, of course, the "clock" is supposed to be above her head,, facing down, instead of under her feet. then, ya know, makes total sense.

i think i'll go with that then.

i really don't think it has anything to do with being right brained or left brained, now that i've figured out how to make her switch. Try focusing on the shadows of her feet -- it's just a matter of which version your eyes choose to focus on.
