Dude! I feel your bus rage I too must use public transit There's is little else in the world that aggravates me quite as effectively as the bus and all the stupid people that ride it I share your view on the giving up your seat thing. Old people and pregnant people. That's all the little sign on the bus tells me I should stand for so if you don't fall under those classifications....I sit. One time I was sitting on the aisle side of the seat and the bus was full. This dude was like, resting his backpack on my shoulder. I kept nudging it off and he kept moving it back. Finally I gave him a shove and he fell forward but it was his own damn fault! My sister, (also a bus rider) elbowed a girl in the face "by accident" one time because she wasn't moving back when the driver kept asking them too. Oh the stories I could tell.... *rage rage rage*
I too understand the bullshit that is public transit. I take the bus home most days from school, and it's so crappy. Well, it's less crappy than the time I took one of the other buses to go to a friend's house and the druggies were actually toking up on the bus. They didn't even try to blow the smoke out the window, they just sat there smoking and the bus driver did NOTHING. Well, it's not like it was a big cloud of smoke or something, it was one little joint, but still! Fucking stanked up my uniform and convinced my mom that I went over to said friend's house to get high. Ugh.
I HATE public transit with a passion. People are always rude and annoying. They always stand/sit too close to me, taking up part of my seat. I don't care if I'm small, I don't like my personal space encroached upon like that. I always end up muttering obscenities at them under my breath as I am too much of a wuss to say it out loud. Although my sister has done so a few times. Hahaha. I generally hate most people in public. They aggravate me so. I have a rage-y story about public transit every day.
Usually my rides in and back are good. It's just on days like this when I can't take it. The driver was great, very friendly, it was just those two people.
I've noticed that no one's said it was bad for me to clock her in the face with my back pack.
Ha. I rarely have good public transit days. Maybe it has something to do with Toronto people and the TTC. The drivers usually make me rage-y. Sometimes they're nice. But mostly crappy.
Probably cos most of us encourage violence. Or just me. I randomly elbow people if they get too close to me. Also, my back pack is almost my only source of protection between me and the next person. I don't want some nasty stranger standing so close to me. Yuck.
Dude! You hit someone in the face with your fucking backpack? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That's the funniest thing, like, ever. I can totally see you doing that.
And no one's speaking out against it because we all condone it. If I had the balls to hit people in the face with my bag, I totally would. Because nothing sucks like taking public transit to university. Especially if you're trying to, oh, I don't know, study for a test or something. And your bus route happens to go past TWO (count 'em! 2!) high schools. So the bus is packed full of extrasuperfuckingannoying high school kids. Did I mention that they're reallyreallyreallyreally loud?
Well I'm not about to pass up an opportunity to bitch about public transit. Sometimes I meet really neat people. Most of the time, I'm reminded of the fact that I hate people

It's enough to drive a person insane.
